Here's to something Great!

Updated: Nov 13, 2018

We've been working along side The Great Victoria Hotel, Bradford for a few years now and we thought it's only right to showcase their lovely venue in their very own blog!

Nestled in the heart of the city, The Great Victoria has set the stage for countless weddings and events and we have been lucky enough to be involved. Once you walk through those turn-style doors you take a step back in time.

Immediately you are greeted with the dark and opulent reception area with it's high ceilings and welcoming fireplace. This is a favourite spot for us to take our couples as it just screams drama and acts as a fabulous backdrop for photo's. The natural light streams in through the floor to ceiling windows illuminating the whole space.

The grandeur of this 1800's building would not go amiss in stylish downtown New York. But don't think for a minute this place is 'old fashioned'. The great mix of classic and contemporary style makes it feel comfortable as well as formal, perfect for any occasion. You might be visiting from out of town for a shopping or hosting a special birthday gathering, what ever it might be your stay will be met with a friendly smile and nothing too much of a trouble.

When it comes to your wedding day you want every detail to be just right, from the flowers to the cake and the table center pieces and the canapes. Couples spend a lot of time and effort to make their day just perfect so to see all this come together is a truly special moment. Here at the Great Victoria they are specialists in making your day run without a hitch so the only one getting 'hitched' is you! :)

The preparation stage of the wedding day is probably the most anticipated part of the day. This is the time that you get to be pampered, a chance to relax and time to spend with your nearest and dearest to help you get ready for the big day. Here at the Great Victoria they offer a range of fabulous rooms to make you feel at home. But if your wanting something a little more 'A' list then why not stay in one of their 4th floor suites. Complete with a touch of luxury you can have a host of hens to enjoy your morning with you.

With high speed internet access and large flat screen TV your fully covered for that last minute instagram post before your walk down the aisle :)

The Corniche Suite has been home to many weddings and transforms itself into a warm and elegant runway to your vows. With it's light oak wall panels and low lighting and of course the beautiful finishing touches of the wedding team, this makes for an exquisite wedding location.

Whether it be a traditional civil ceremony or a lavish Asian affair the Corniche Suite and the Velasco suite can host up to 400 guests between them to enjoy the celebrations. Whatever your look or style The Great Victoria will go to every length to meet your requirements.

Once the formalities of the ceremony is over the hotel seamlessly converts the rooms into a banqueting dream. With room for a spacious dance floor, you know that the party has started, the candles are lit and the bubbles are flowing.

As photographers we are always looking for the best shot, how can we enhance our subject or showcase a beautiful setting and when we work at the Great Victoria there's lots of options for us. If you've seen our work you'll know we love a good stair case to add a little drama and different angle to a picture. We love to take our couples away after the ceremony to have a little alone time and cuddle up for some photo's.

Here's just a few examples of how we use the interior of the hotel to help shape your photo album.

As you can see this place has so much to offer and truly has a home away from home feel but with a touch of class.

We've had a special relationship with the Great Victoria Hotel and can certainly say when it comes to weddings they know what they are doing. So if your struggling for a venue to host your special day then go check out their website for all their wedding package information.
